Additional Info

For longer filter life, it's always best to start with the cleanest water possible. When using water from a lake, river, stream or pond, we recommend pre-filtering the water to remove as much dirt and debris before using in the Gravity Filter. This can be done by filling a bucket with dirty water and letting it sit for a while which will allow heavier dirt and debris to settle to the bottom. You can also make a pre-filter from a clean white t-shirt or other clean fabric and stretch that over the top of your filter to catch thicker particles as you fill the upper housing.
